St. M Swimmers Lapping the Competition

Mason Teagle
From PRs to best in state times, St. Mary's is dominating in the lanes.
At the start of our season, HV's Sandeen Masonry Invitational meet, our boys won a 4-way dual between Cascade Christian, Hidden Valley, and Klamath Union. Girls placed 4th. Combined, they took 2nd place overall. Elise Chamberland won High Point with two 1st place finishes. Lucas Impert won High Point for the boys. Lucas and Alex Titianu took 1st in both their individuals and helped secure 1st place in the 200 & 400 Free Relays.

More recently, in last Friday's home meet versus South Med, Eagle Point, and Phoenix, our Boys & Girls teams both took 2nd place, also taking 2nd in overall team scores. The boys took 1st in the 200 Medley Relay, clocked at 1:55.26, first in the 200 Free Relay at 1:39.06, and in St. Mary's style, they also took first in the 400 Free Relay in 3:42.87, finishing 11 seconds ahead of their competition.

We have multiple boys holding the top times in the state right now.... in EVERY relay. Sully Rizvi, Lucas Impert, Sawyer Mortensen, and Alex Titianu currently hold the fastest times in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 & 400 Free Relay, timed at 1:55.26, 1:39.06, and 3:43.99.

Elise Chamberland is still the top swimmer to beat in the 50 & 100 Freestyle sprints. Currently undefeated in her swims, she's consistently been the top finisher with top times of 24.64 in the 50 and 54.01 in the 100. For reference, 54.01 would easily podium in the boys' A finals at districts. At districts, she is looking to break into the range of 53.00, which also would have her in the Boys A Finals at State. An insane performance.

Sawyer Mortensen has numerous new Personal Best times, swimming at 53.20 in the 100 Free and aiming to break 1:00 in the 100 butterfly.
