Runner Qualifies for Nat'l Jr Olympic Championships

On November 24th Jack Peterson, St. Mary's Middle School 8th Grader, competed in the USATF Region 13 Junior Olympic Championships at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, WA. Running in the 13-14 year old age bracket, Peterson, age 13 posted a time of 14:19.50 in the 4,000 meters race to finish in 24th place. 

 

Peterson's time of 14:19.50 breaks the previous St. Mary's School record for a 4,000 meter cross country race of 15:14.50 set by High School Senior Chris Martin in 2013.

 

Peterson will compete in the USATF Cross Country National Junior Olympic Championships on December 14th in Shelbyville, Indiana.
